From pay checks and pearls to dirty diapers

I've nicknamed these two 'mayhem and mischief'.

I’ve nicknamed these two ‘mayhem and mischief’.

Disclaimer – I love my son more than anything in the world. He is my everything…including total pain in the ass and life changer extraordinaire.

When I handed in my resignation letter to be a stay at home mom I had visions of sugar cookies, organized closets and a smartly dressed, well behaved little boy dancing in my mind. I was high and mighty on my decision, sure I’d just figured out the BEST PLAN EVER! Let’s be honest here in that I wasn’t being totally altruistic in giving up my career… I was sick of 60+ hour work weeks, long commutes and pantyhose.  Fast forward 10 months… there hasn’t been an iota of tweed in my day-to-day wardrobe, I haven’t seen a paycheck in FOREVER and I’m pretty sure my kids first phrase is going to be “oh shit”! Welcome to my blog, where I am trying to make sense and find joy in my decision to be a stay at home mom… and raise a smart, happy little boy.  My sidekicks are an Irish Wolfhound with serious attitude and a grande cinnamon dolce latte.
